Climate change is a health emergency, and we are already seeing its impact across Birmingham and Solihull.

Taking action is essential to improving health, reducing inequality, and building a stronger, more resilient NHS. As part of the Greener NHS ambition, Birmingham and Solihull is working towards national targets to reach net zero carbon emissions. This means cutting emissions from the care we provide by 2040, and across our wider supply chain by 2045.

Our Green Plan sets out Birmingham and Solihull’s Integrated Care System priorities for 2025–2028.

In Birmingham and Solihull, every part of our system is playing its part in creating a greener, more sustainable NHS. From our Trusts to GP practices, we are working together to deliver lasting positive changes for our environment and for the health of our communities.
