Chief Nursing Officer and Deputy Chief Executive, Lisa Stalley-Green will join Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust as Executive Director of Quality and Safety (Chief Nurse), it has today been announced.

Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board Chief Executive David Melbourne said:

“I would like to extend my congratulations to Lisa and I am confident that she will add great value to the mental health trust. Lisa has been amongst our region’s most senior and experienced nurses for some time and in her ICB role has overseen significant improvements in our approach to safeguarding and children’s services and delivered joined up learning disabilities and autism strategies. I’d also like to extend my personal thanks to Lisa for being a constant champion for the patient voice in our discussions.

“Strong nurse leadership will be critical to the continued improvement in mental health services being achieved by the team at BSMHFT and we wish Lisa every success in her new endeavour.

“The move provides the Trust with the opportunity to stabilise nurse leadership after a period of interim nurse leadership arrangements and to push on with the sustained improvements they have delivered over the last period.”

Reacting to the news of her appointment, Lisa said:

“It’s an exciting time to be joining the Trust and I’m looking forward to working with and learning from new colleagues. I’m proud to have grown my career in Birmingham and Solihull and I know I’m joining an organisation that has great things going for it and I’m looking forward to working more closely with patients and service users.

“I’d like to thank colleagues across the system and at the Integrated Care Board for all of their support. It’s been great to be part of establishing a new organisation and a pleasure to lead the system’s nursing community. I hope to build on this and will play an active role in our system’s nursing community from within the Trust.”

Lisa will start in her new role in the coming months and acting up arrangements will be confirmed as soon as possible.
