Paul Sherriff, Chief Officer for Partnerships and Integration

Paul_Sherriff_2.jpgPaul Sherriff has had an NHS career spanning almost 30 years. Graduating in Birmingham, Paul’s first role was as a podiatrist for North Birmingham Health Authority in 1993, which led to a variety of roles and culminated in Paul becoming the Service Lead in East Birmingham, between 1998 - 2000. 

In 2001, following a spell with the Audit Commission, Paul moved to Leicestershire as General Manager for Therapy Services. Paul held the post of Director of Corporate Affairs for Leicestershire and Rutland Primary Care Trust in 2008, before moving to Leicestershire Community Services as part of the executive management team. 

Prior to returning to Birmingham, Paul worked for Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust and he also completed his master's degree (Distinction) in Health and Social Care Leadership. 

Paul joined NHS Birmingham and Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) in 2013, leading the merger of the then three CCGs to create the largest single CCG in England. More recently, Paul has been leading place development and GP provider strategy development and delivery. 

In May 2022, Paul was appointed as the Chief Officer Partnerships and Integration of the NHS Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board (ICB), which forms part of the Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care System. 

In his new role, Paul will continue to play an instrumental part in developing integrated working and primary care to support the delivery of the ICB’s core aims.
