Important Information

Making a Safeguarding Assessment

1. Are there any children in the household? If yes, it is an automatic referral to Children's Social Care (CSC). You do not need parental consent but ideally let them know that you are acting under your safeguarding duty to protect their child/ren. Take into account risks from Perpetrator and convey them to CSC.

2. Is the victim an adult with care and support needs? Are there any vulnerable adults or adults with care and support needs in the household? If yes, a referral to Adult Social Services may be required. However, consent is required if the adult has mental capacity - unless there is significant risk of homicide. Discuss with the BSOLICB Safeguarding team
